The Travel & Sport Social Initiative focuses on taking responsibility for the company's effects on environmental and social well being by means of involvement in multiple environmental, wildlife conservation and community projects across Southern Africa.
Our first project was launched in May 2013. We joined the fight against Rhino Poaching by starting a Rhino Initiative supporting Karen Trendler’s specialist, non-commercial rhino orphanage. The orphanage includes an intensive care unit, treatment rooms, rhino accommodation units and a support facility it forms a vital part of the Rhino Response Strategy National Rescue and Response Network. Travel and Sport worked through The Endangered Wildlife Fund to support this project via the online fundraising portal GivenGain.com and managed to raise R7514 over a 12 month period.

Liefde Wen's Lusikisiki Rugby ProjeCT
In October 2015 we joined forces with Bouwer Bosch's LiefdeWen charity organization in support of the first ever Transkei Rugby Tournament. We were fortunate enough to have traveled to Bambisana, Transkei with former Springbok Sevens player Mpho Mbiyozo for the final of the tournament. Mpho not only refereed the game but also gave the boys some guidance on how to rise above their circumstances, sharing his personal journey to success.
This is an ongoing project as we believe in sustainable growth within a community. The short term goal is to get all the coaches to attend BokSmart Coaching Courses. In the long term our focus is to construct a proper rugby field within the community.
